Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted yesterday for making a false statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020 and for obstruction of a Congressional proceeding.

The case against Comey was so weak, according to the U.S. District Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, that he chose to resign rather than prosecute the case. No other prosecutors decided to take the case either. So a former personal defense lawyer for Trump has been appointed to the position on an interim basis.
