I just read that Target, Aldi, and other retailers are removing the self-checkout pay stations from their stores. Their original purpose was to address the shortage of labor and reduce costs.

Instead, retailers have found that on average, theft from their stores using self-checkout pay stations was 16x higher than in stores that relied solely on cashiers!

Let’s hear it for Americans’ sense of honesty!
