This afternoon I was appalled by what I saw in the post office. The degree of missing the most basic knowledge was something I would never have guessed.
A young man, who appeared to be about 19 years old, wanted to send a package. When presenting it to be weighed for postage, the postal clerk had to tell the young man that the package could not be mailed because the address did not include the state. The package was going out of state!
What is going on in the schools that something so basic for everyday life would be missing? Packages cannot be sent by email!
Finally, schools are finally “wising up” to realize that cursive writing needs to be taught to enable students to read it. How unfortunate for those who have grown up not having this skill.
